Find Your Perfect Fit

To start you will need a soft measuring tape.

1) Measure head circumference

  • Wrap the tape around your head measuring a pinky width above your ears and eyebrows.
  • Mark where the tape overlaps.

2) Measure crown height

  • Start measuring a pinky width above your ears to the top/center of your head.

* It is best to measure 2-3 times for consistent results.

How do I clean this cap?
Rinse with clean, cool water and line dry. Spot clean as needed. Be careful not to allow Velcro parts of your wetsuit to attach to your cap. We learned this one the hard way!

Can I put my cap in the washing machine?

A simple rinse and line-dry is sufficient most of the time. If needed, simply use some soap or detergent and spot clean. Though this cap is machine-washable, we discourage tossing it in with your laundry because washing synthetic materials, such as polyester, releases microplastics in to our environment. In fact, laundry is a top source of microplastic pollution.

Here is a brief PBS article about this issue and how we can clean our clothes more sustainably.

Why does the visor of my cap not stay flipped up?
This function only works if your cap is on snugly. Tighten the adjustable strap on the back and viola!

Is this cap only for surfers?
Not at all! This cap can be used while enjoying plenty of other water sports, such as boogie boarding, kayaking, paddleboarding, rafting, sailing, boating, fishing, canoeing, wind surfing, etc. The sky's the limit!

Can I duck dive and turtle roll with the cap on?
Yes, you technically can but the force of the water may push the cap off your head and around your neck. It has been reported to be A+ for longboarding or shortboarding on smaller, more relaxed days, but not ideal for pumping, beach break days.

Can this cap survive duck-diving and wipe-outs?
Yes, but everything has its limits! So far, the Ride On Surf Baseball Cap has held up on duck-dives and wipe-outs up to head high conditions. Further testing is needed to see what its limits are.

Can I wear my cap like a regular baseball cap without the chin straps on?
Sure you can! Nothing fancy - just buckle the strap, toss it into the cap and wear it with the strap between the inside of the cap and your head. You could also just unstrap and strap it behind your neck for a quick solution.

Do I still need to wear sunscreen?
Yes! This cap doesn’t cover every part of exposed skin and that exposure changes depending on how high or low the sun is and how the water reflects sunlight. Think of this cap as an additional shield against the sun.

What does “ethically made” mean?
This is when the design and manufacturing process uses sustainable methods and prioritizes making a positive impact on communities.
